The Laboratory of Contemporary Algerian Society at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences organized a national symposium entitled “Values and the Epistemology of the Humanities and Social Sciences: the Dialectic of Interpenetration and Separation.”
The opening of the symposium was presided over by the Vice-Rector of the University in charge of Scientific Research and Postgraduate Studies.
The symposium brought together professors and researchers from various academic disciplines from Setif 2 University, as well as professors from other national universities. It also witnessed a distinguished attendance of professors and students.
The aim of the symposium was to shape a critical vision that advances scientific research in the field of the humanities and social sciences from the narrowness of separation to the openness of conscious and responsible interpenetration, to explore the epistemological gaps generated by the conflict between positivist and humanistic tendencies, and to contribute to building a scientific practice that respects epistemological standards without denying identity and values.
