The Ibn Khaldoun Hall at the Library of the Faculty of Law and Political Science hosted the activities of the national symposium, held both in person and via remote communication. The event was organized by the Laboratory of Modern Technology Applications to Law at the faculty, under the title “Achieving Water Security in Light of Global Challenges: Towards Rebuilding a Vision for Managing Shared Resources.”
This topic carries great importance, as water security is considered one of the national priority research themes.
The symposium was inaugurated by the university’s Vice-Rector in charge of scientific research and the Dean of the faculty, with the participation of professors from Sétif 2 University and research scholars from various national universities across multiple disciplines.
The symposium aimed to assess the current reality and analyze the global geopolitical and climatic challenges affecting water security. It sought to present new visions and models for managing shared water resources, while emphasizing the importance of achieving comprehensive water security and its connection to food security and sustainable development.
The event provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives and ideas that contribute—through partnership with various stakeholders—to building and shaping sustainable solutions based on governance, the adoption of modern and innovative technologies, and the promotion of a culture of rational water consumption and resource utilization.
The symposium also emphasized the essential role of the university in offering scientific and practical solutions to achieve water security in Algeria.
